Patrick Brennan is a certified public accountant and small business owner. After working for over five years at Feeley & Driscoll, P.C., a large regional public accounting firm in Boston, Patrick decided to make an investment in his future by starting his own accounting practice. As a CPA working with small and middle market companies Patrick has seen firsthand how the current economic conditions are hurting small business owners and their employees. Patrick’s experience helping businesses navigate through the current economic turmoil will have a significant impact on the way business is done on Beacon Hill; Patrick will help bring more accountability and transparency to our state government.
Patrick was born in Worcester, Massachusetts where he lived until his parents moved to a small town in New Hampshire. Growing up in a blue-collar family, Patrick wanted to help the family by earning extra money, even if he could only contribute a small amount. He started his first company when he was eight years old. During his early entrepreneurial years he learned how to work hard, serve his customers, and invest in the future. Resulting from his willingness to work hard throughout his adolescence, Patrick was able to save money with the hope of going to college.
Patrick’s parents always steered him towards college with the hope of providing career opportunities that were not afforded to them. After graduating high school, Patrick decided to attend Saint Joseph’s College of Maine to study business and play basketball. Making the basketball team was not an easy task; Patrick had to work hard to make the transition from being a power forward in high school to shooting guard in college.
Patrick graduated with distinction from Saint Joseph’s College in 2004 with a degree in Accounting, a degree in Finance, and a minor in Philosophy. Patrick was a member of the national honor society and was selected to represent the student body at the Annual President’s Society Dinner.
During his time working at Feeley and Driscoll, Patrick was viewed by his clients, staff and employer as a dedicated employee who successfully created proposals and implemented ideas that served his clients’ needs well. Patrick was a supervisor in the firm’s auditing and accounting practice and consistently provided value added advice to his clients to increase profitability and help them identify and reach strategic growth goals.
Patrick has been living in the Greater Boston area for six years. His parents reside nearby in New Hampshire. Patrick has two sisters, two nieces and two nephews. Patrick is an avid runner and community activist. He ran the 2009 and 2010 Boston Marathon to benefit Boston Partners in Education. Patrick recently reorganized and currently serves as the chair of the South Boston Ward 6 Republican Committee. He also has served as treasurer for the Boston Republican City-Wide Committee.
From a very young age, Patrick learned how to invest in his future and today he wants to help Massachusetts and the citizens of South Boston and Dorchester invest in its future. As a CPA, Patrick helps small businesses make intelligent decisions that ensure long-term sustainability and create job opportunities.
If elected Patrick will represent the hard working families in South Boston and Dorchester as an independent voice.
